Dr. Bernard Gabriel Kivuma is a Research Officer and Medical Doctor in rural Tanzania, focusing on HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis with a strong interest in preventive interventions, particularly for Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVPs). Beyond this, his broader research interests encompass Infectious Diseases, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Mental Health, and HIV vaccines and cure research.
Dr. Kivuma's professional journey includes several notable accomplishments, including fellowships at prestigious institutions such as the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF)/University of Cape Town, the International AIDS Society (IAS), and the Starling Collective Fellowship at Giving Tuesdays. He trained at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo) and the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC), the Kilimanjaro Christian Research Institute (KCRI),
Dr. Kivuma is a member of various reputable organizations, including the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS), The Southern African HIV Clinicians Society (SAHCS), and the International AIDS Society (IAS). He actively contributes to fieldwork and has been involved in impactful projects such as the Stig2Health Project and the TB CAPT Project.
