George Patrick Mfanando is a Counselor within the Chronic Diseases Clinic of Ifakara (CDCI),  the largest rural prospective cohorts for individuals living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa.

George has provided counseling services, conducted one-on-one support sessions, and organized group therapy sessions. 

He has a background in Information and communications technology (ICT), but underwent training in counseling and patient care at Ifakara St. Francis Referral Hospital. Further expanding his skills, in 2021, George participated in the "Sauti ya Vijana" training program at MOSHI KCMC, conducted in partnership with Duke University, KCRI, and the Ifakara Health Institute.

George actively participated in two significant healthcare projects, namely the "Stig2Health Project" and the ongoing "Sauti ya Vijana Project." In Stig2Health, he played multiple roles, including lay counselor, peer educator, and facilitator, contributing to reduced stigma and comprehensive care for individuals affected by HIV.
