Research Officer specialized in R Programming

Brian Anthony Masanja is an early career scientist within the Mathematical Modelling & Data Science Unit at the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI). He has a solid foundation of R Programming and statistical analysis which he has applied in several areas including providing analysis support and training to the National Malaria Control program, participated in the development of different scientific manuscripts, and has participated in building capacity in the R language among master’s students from the university of Dar es salaam mathematics department. He is also adept in managing geospatial data using the R language. 

Brian has participated in different scientific conferences including the 8th PAMCA Annual Conference and the National Institute of medical research (NIMR) Annual meeting 2022. His research interests include geospatial modeling of infectious diseases, malaria vector control and surveillance. He aims to pursue a Masters in geospatial modelling and later a PhD in infectious diseases. 

Brian is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Statistics.
