Adeline Herman Nderumaki is a distinguished Senior Administrative Officer at the Ifakara Health Institute, where she has been contributing her expertise since April 2004. With a rich background in administration and project management, Adeline plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of significant programs like PMI Shinda (Defeat) Malaria, where she currently serves as an administrator. Additionally, she excels as the Institute Events Coordinator, orchestrating pivotal events such as workshops, scientific boot camps, stakeholder meetings, and high-profile visits.
From 2004 to 2007, during the period when Ifakara was known as the IHRDC (Ifakara Health Research and Development Center), Adeline was involved in a project called Intermittent Preventive Treatment in Infants (IPTi). Her responsibilities included coordinating logistics and providing administrative support to the IPTi team and 250 data collectors. The team successfully managed to collect household data ranging from 21,000 to 240,000 using PDAs in Southern Tanzania.
Later, from 2014 to 2019, Adeline transitioned into the role of a Personal Assistant to the former Directors of Ifakara, Dr. Hassan Mshinda and Dr. Salim Abdulla.
Adeline embarked on her academic journey by obtaining her first degree in BBA undergraduate studies from the Open University of Tanzania. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters of Project Planning and Management at the Institute of Accountancy in Arusha, further honing her skills in her field of expertise. Her educational achievements are complemented by a series of professional certifications and training programs.
Noteworthy among them is her Certificate of Leadership Skills from the Bagamoyo Training Center in January 2021, and her Certificate of Office Management and Administration International Training from Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2011. In addition, Adeline has undergone specialized training at renowned institutions such as the Harvard School of Public Health, where she received comprehensive instruction in Human Subjects Protection, enhancing her ability to conduct research ethically and effectively.
Adeline's professional journey is marked by a commitment to excellence and a diverse array of experiences. Since November 2003, she has been an integral part of the Ifakara Health Institute, serving in various capacities across different projects, departments, and branches. Her tenure has been characterized by dedication, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of organizational goals. Prior to her tenure at the Ifakara Health Institute, Adeline's career trajectory included roles at esteemed organizations such as Adult Morbidity and Mortality Project (AMMP) and Water Ways Shipping Company in Dubai, U.A.E. These experiences endowed her with a global perspective and a versatile skill set that she continues to leverage in her current role.
As a Senior Administrative Officer and Events Coordinator, Adeline has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in managing complex projects and organizing high-impact events. Her notable achievements include coordinating the WHO Workshop on Residual Malaria Transmission in 2017, a collaboration between IHI and WHO, which saw the participation of over 200 stakeholders. She also spearheaded the African of Sciences (AAS) event in 2019, organized jointly with the African Academy of Science, attracting over 150 participants from across the globe. Facilitating various workshops, boot camps, stakeholder meetings, and visits, Adeline showcases her ability to manage diverse stakeholders and ensure the success of each endeavor.
