Engineering healthcare transformation

With a Bachelor of Technology in Biomedical Engineering from Lovely Professional University, India, earned in 2023, Hope David Peter brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her professional journey includes a stint as a Biomedical Engineer intern at Max Super Specialty Hospital, India, where she honed her skills over a period of 7 months. 

Currently, at the Ifakara Health Institute under the NEST 360 (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies) program, she serves as a Biomedical Engineer, coordinating technical trainings and maintaining neonatal care medical equipment.

Her proficiency lies in the management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment, coupled with expertise in inventory management and quality assurance. Specifically trained in neo technology management and healthcare quality improvement, Hope is dedicated to advancing healthcare outcomes. 

As a member of the Association of Medical Engineers and Technicians of Tanzania (AMMET), she actively contributes to the field, collaborating with peers to drive positive change. In her current role within the NEST 360 program, she plays a vital role in maintaining neonatal care medical equipment and assists in the development of job aids, videos, and training curriculum for Ministry of Health technical and clinical staff, furthering the impact of her work in healthcare innovation.
