Jonathan Dauson Msafiri is a dedicated Clinical Officer with a diverse background in healthcare and research. He holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, both acquired through his tenure at Ifakara Health Institute. With a career spanning over six years, Jonathan has demonstrated his commitment to advancing healthcare through various roles and projects.
Beginning his career at Tindwa Medical and Health Services (TMHS) in Dar es Salaam, Jonathan served as a Paramedic Officer from 2018 to 2021. During this time, he gained valuable experience in emergency medical services and honed his clinical skills in a hospital setting. In August 2021, Jonathan transitioned to Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) to join the TB CAPT Core Trial Project, a clinical trial focused on tuberculosis. Here, he played a crucial role in research, contributing to the project until June 2023.
Currently, Jonathan is actively engaged in the BiMVac01 Project at IHI, a randomized clinical trial comparing two COVID-19 vaccines. Since July 2023, he has been instrumental in the execution and coordination of this project, leveraging his expertise in clinical medicine and research methodologies.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has participated in various training programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP), among others. These certifications reflect his commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and research ethics.
As an active member of the Emergency Medical Assistance Team (EMAT) and with his extensive experience in clinical trials, Jonathan remains dedicated to making a meaningful impact in healthcare, one project at a time.
