Supporting comprehensive nursing care for patients within clinical trials

In 2023, Magreth Oswald Mswima joined the Ifakara Health Institute, where she took on the role of a study nurse for the BIMVAC 01 project in Dar es Salaam. In this position, she was responsible for participant sensitization, screening, measuring vital signs, sample collection, and vaccine administration. This role allowed her to gain valuable insights and experience in research methodologies and practices, broadening her professional skill set and deepening her understanding of the intersection between clinical care and research.

Before her tenure at Ifakara Health Institute, Magreth built a strong foundation in nursing through various roles. She began her nursing education at the Kibosho School of Nursing from 2017 to 2020. After graduating, she started her professional career at Hai District Hospital, where she worked from 2020 to 2021. During her time at Hai District Hospital, Magreth provided comprehensive nursing care to patients and assisted in various clinical procedures and patient management tasks, showcasing her dedication and skill in patient care.

In 2021, Magreth joined Kibosho District Designated Hospital, where she continued to deliver high-quality nursing care until 2023. Her responsibilities included patient care, patient education, and health promotion activities, further enhancing her communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. These experiences solidified her reputation as a flexible and adaptable nurse capable of thriving in diverse healthcare settings.

Magreth’s three years of experience as a registered nurse have honed her ability to provide exceptional patient care, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, and solve problems efficiently.
