Adam Alphonce Katoto is an experienced nursing professional currently serving as a Study Nurse within the BiMVaC01 clinical trial project at the Ifakara Health Institute. He holds an Ordinary Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from Hubert Kairuki Memorial University and a Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery from Massana of Nursing, Dar es Salaam. Adam also completed his secondary education at Toledo Secondary School and primary education at Chuda Primary School.
In his role as Assistant Clinical Coordinator for the BiMVaC01 Study at IHI, Adam coordinates and oversees all study activities. Prior to his current role, Adam worked as a Study Nurse in Clinical Research for the ANTI COV study. He also served as a Nurse Counselor and Tester with Management and Development for Health (MDH), providing health education on HIV testing and counseling, referring HIV-positive individuals to care and treatment clinics, and documenting HTC reports.
Adam has volunteered as a theatre nurse at Bombo-Tanga Regional Referral Hospital and as a midwife at CCBRT Maternity Ward. His training includes Identification and Linkage Case Management, Enhanced PITC and Linkage Case Management (EPALCM), and National Index Testing & Partner Notification Services under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children (MoHCDGEC). He is skilled in collecting vital signs using electronic systems, performing ECG care, administering injections, and conducting home blood sample collections.
