Field Assistance Officer with expertise in laboratory techniques, field research, and data analysis

Alfred has been with the Ifakara Health Institute since 2018, bringing a wealth of expertise as a medical laboratory practitioner. Over the years, he has worked on and collaborated on various projects, including AMR, Anopheles Africa, ACOBISREM, Kazi Afya, and Deep Diagnostics.

Driven by a passion for continuous learning, Alfred joined the Environmental Health and Ecological Sciences (EHES) department in 2021 as a field technician for the Mosquito Mobility Phase One pilot. He is currently a Research Officer, focusing on projects related to Mosquito Mobility, specifically assessing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases along transport networks, including using advanced data analysis techniques to contribute to cutting-edge research on mosquito-borne diseases.

In 2023, Alfred enhanced his skills by attending a training program on Introductory Population Genetics: Data to Inference, organized by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) at the Vector Control Research Centre in Puducherry, India.

With a diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Alfred's extensive professional experience includes proficiency in various laboratory techniques, field research, and data analysis. His excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams have been pivotal in achieving significant milestones in public health. 

Alfred is committed to advancing public health and medical research, aimed to combat infectious diseases and improve healthcare outcomes in underserved communities. He aspires to take on leadership roles, shaping health policies, implementing evidence-based interventions, and fostering collaboration between research institutions and healthcare providers. Ultimately, Alfred's goal is to make meaningful contributions toward achieving global health equity and addressing pressing public health challenges.
