Ms. Adelina Charles serves as the Branch Manager for the Bagamoyo branch of Ifakara Health Institute, with over 14 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and data processing. She began her career at Ifakara in 2010 in the treasury office, later transitioning to the projects accounting and management unit. Later on, Ms. Adelina advanced to the role of Senior Accountant at the Bagamoyo branch before being promoted to Branch Manager in 2019, where she now oversees all branch functions. A certified accountant with a CPA qualification, she holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance from Mzumbe University, awarded in 2014.

As a Branch Manager, Ms. Adelina oversees the management of the Bagamoyo branch’s finances, human resources, and administration, ensuring compliance with institutional procedures.  In her HR and administration role, she is charged with ensuring a good working environment for all staff at the branch; liaising with collaborators, partners, and key stakeholders in all institutional matters, and representing the Ifakara management in all branch activities at the Bagamoyo District level.  

In terms of finances, Ms. Adelina supervises the branch’s income and expenditures, ensuring that income-generating units remain financially sustainable, and oversees the planning and budgeting for administrative support systems, such as fleet management, estate management, printing, laboratories, office space, workshops, stores, and ICT.

Before joining Ifakara, Ms. Adelina worked at the Tanzania High Court in the treasury department in Dar es Salaam from 2008 to 2009. In 2021, she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant CPA(T) by the National Board of  Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in Tanzania.
