Kafuruki Shubis
Research Scientist
Dr Kafuruki Shubis is currently heading the Training Department and coordinating implementation of the Masters of Science in Public Health Research, a joint program with Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and technology Arusha campus. He has extensive experience as a practicing clinician and in clinical training.
He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education from Centre for Medical Education, University of Dundee Scotland. He has extensive experience as a practicing clinician and in clinical training. His experience ranges from curriculum design, assessment and teaching methodologies.
He joined the Institute in 2007 and was instrumental in establishing the Quality Assurance system at Clinical Trial Bagamoyo branch, and Community Advisory Boards at Bagamoyo, Ifakara and Kigoma branches of IHI. He was a study site coordinator for the phase III malaria vaccine trial.
In the community engagement arena, he has been involved in study result dissemination to study participants and policy makers. He has published few papers on malaria vaccine trials, community advisory boards in limited resource setting and community perspective on malaria vaccine. #
